Daniela Solcą

Born in Mendrisio (Switzerland) on October 14th 1977. After the school, she got the linguistic degree in her own country in 1996. Pushed by the passion for the music and for the string instruments, she decides to come to Cremona to improve her studies.

She enrolls to the International Violinmaking School of Cremona and, in 2000, she graduates with hight results under teachers Daniele and Giorgio Scolari's guide. Thanks to their indications and teachings she develops her working experience.

In 2004 she opens her own workshop in the heart of the city, in Porta Marzia 7, one of most characteristic and beautiful streets of Cremona. She works with her colleagues Gianluca Zanetti and Cecilia Piazzi.

From 2007 she belongs to the Violin Society of America and to the Consortium of Violinmakers "Antonio Stradivari" of Cremona.

In 2010 she opens a new workshop in the historical center of Mendrisio (Switzerland), in Via Stella 7.

She takes inspiration from the classical cremonese violinmaking, prefering the models of Amati, Stradivari and Guarneri, but she also has interest in models of other italian schools such as Emiliana, Torinese and Milanese.

For her instruments, she adopt only first quality woods and materials in order to achieve the excellence of the sound.

Competitions and recognitions

In 2006 she participated in the "XI edition of the International Triennial Competition of Stringed Instrument Making Antonio Stradivari" and to the "Competition 2006" of the Violin Society of America.

In 2008 she won the gold medal (first prize in the category professionals) to the Second National Violinmaking Competition of Cittą di Pisogne with a violin.

In the 2009 participated in the XII edition of the International Triennial Competition of Stringed Instrument Making Antonio Stradivari.
